It was 1966 and MAPA was born with the conviction that Plexiglas, Perspex, Lucite, in short, PMMA with all its commercial names could have a great future. The first transparent tables and perspex bookcases were produced, and stroke with their game of lights and transparency. The maison of Wanda Ferragamo, with the design of the Monsani studio, immediately believes in this project. MAPA begins to produce special shelves to display products in the boutiques all over the world, letting them float in the light.

Thanks to the MAPA workshop, I&S receives requests directly from private customers, and develops customized furnishing accessories that over the years gave life to a line of exclusive and original products. Interior furnishing, thanks to fantastic collaborations with design and interior design studios, leads to an almost infinite list of products. Armchairs, desks, bookcases always designed and made to measure, furnish today luxurious and refined homes, lightening classic environments with a touch of modern transparency. Antique furniture is often combined with transparent materials to create original corners with a unique taste.

If in fashion accessories the colors and finishes are predominant, when it comes to home accessories the use of transparent material covers the 90% of requests. Transparent plexy is often combined with white and black accents, occasionally with smoky gray and brown shades.
